Rep. Will Tuell
Rep. Tuell enters his first term in the Maine House of Representatives serving the people of House District 139 which includes Cutler, East Machias, Eastport, Lubec, Machias, Machiasport, Roque Bluffs and Whiting, plus the unorganized territory of Trescott Township.
Rep. Tuell graduated from the University of Maine at Machias with a degree in history and has spent the past 15 years serving as Communications Manager at the Sunrise County Economic Council. He’s also worked as a journalist for the Downeast Coastal Press for 7 years. He will serve his second consecutive term on the Marine Resources Committee in the 128th Legislature.
Rep. Tuell makes his home in East Machias and spends his spare time watching Red Sox baseball, English soccer, writing and reading.
Rep. Will Tuell’s interview on the GH-RT Show this morning regarding LD 129, “An Act to Provide Schools Options for Making Up School Days” his bill allowing school districts to extend up to 25 school days by adding one hour onto each day. Five one hour extensions would count as a “make up” school day, with a maximum of allowable make up days. The bill will be the subject of a February 25 public hearing in the Education and Cultural Affairs Committee:
