Rep. Karl Ward
Rep. Ward is serving his first term in the Maine House of Representatives. He represents the good people of House District 131 which includes the towns of Dedham, Orland, Otis, Penobscot, Verona Island, Prospect, Stockton Springs. He’ll serve on the Labor, Commerce, Research and Development Committee in the 127th Legislature.
Rep. Ward graduated from Schenck High School in East Millinocket in 1981 and graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Maine with degrees in Civil Engineering and Construction Management. He currently serves as the President and CEO of Nickerson & O’Day, a construction firm based in Brewer. He lives in Dedham with his wife, Dr. Kathy Ward, who is the President and Partner of Penobscot Eye Care in Brewer. The couple has three children.
Rep. Ward is very active in his community as well. He currently serves as Chairman of the President’s Advisory Board at Eastern Maine Community College in Bangor. He also serves as the Industrial Advisor at the UMaine College of Engineering, School of Technology and he’s the Co-Founder of Eastern Maine Community College’s Civil Engineering Technology Program.
In his spare time, you’ll find Rep. Ward cheering on his beloved Boston Red Sox, hunting, mountain biking, hiking, travel history and politics.
