Tom Skolfield is currently serving in his 7th year in Maine’s House of Representatives.
First Elected in 2014, Representative Skolfield has sponsored several pieces of successful legislation, including LD 333 An Act To Amend the Laws Governing Dangerous Dogs and Nuisance Dogs To Allow for Flexibility in Protection Dog Training, LD 352 An Act To Exempt Veterans’ Organizations from Licensing Fees for Certain Games, LD 527 Resolve, Directing the Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry, Bureau of Parks and Lands To Establish a Law Enforcement Training Program for Park Managers and Certain Bureau Staff, and LD 1610 Resolve, To Modify the Deed for a Parcel of Property in the Town of Carrabassett Valley.

Agriculture, Conservation & Forestry
The Joint Standing Committee on Agriculture, Conservation & Forestry oversees the Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry; agricultural development; agricultural fairs, products and marketing; animal control and welfare; harness racing; food policy; food safety, inspection and labeling; dairy industry; pest management and pesticides regulation; industrial hemp; state parks, historic sites, public lands and submerged lands; Maine Land Use Planning Commission; geological surveying and mapping; Maine Forest Service; timber harvesting; industrial hemp; the Land for Maine’s Future Program; and Baxter State Park.

I am a seventh generation Maine native with 4 children and 8 grandchildren. I want all of our children, your and mine, to be able to have the opportunity and the choice to stay and thrive in our area of this great state. We need to continue to manage our natural resources wisely. I have always been a strong advocate for good stewardship of the great natural resources our state offers. I will use common sense leadership to represent you with honesty, integrity, and fairness. . I enjoy public service. I know the people in District 112 and am one of you.
