Rep. William Faulkingham
STATEHOUSE – Rep. Billy Bob Faulkingham (R-Winter Harbor) is pleased to announce that he will begin his first term assigned to the Joint Standing Committee on Marine Resources. He will be tasked with all legislation, rules and regulations related to Maine’s marine resources industry.
“I am really looking forward to serving on this committee, hearing directly from people who come from all over the state about how Maine can do a better job promoting and supporting the fishing industry,” said Faulkingham. “Too often, those of us who have worked in the industry know first-hand that many of the regulations get in our way, and are often outdated. We need to be making it easier for Mainers to succeed in our fishing industry, not harder, and that is exactly the goal I’ll be working towards as the ranking House Republican member of the committee.”
13 committee members will be tasked with reviewing proposals regarding the Department of Marine Resources; Marine Patrol; commercial and recreational marine fisheries management, licensing and enforcement; marine science and research; shellfish sanitation and management; and aquaculture.
Rep. Faulkingham will begin committee work later this month, and plans to provide regular communication to his constituents on bills he will introduce this session.
He represents House District 136, including Gouldsboro, Hancock, Mariaville, Osborn, Sorrento, Steuben, Sullivan, Waltham, Winter Harbor, Fletchers Landing Township, and part of East Hancock.
