The Joint Standing Committee on Marine Resources oversees the Department of Marine Resources; Marine Patrol; commercial and recreational marine fisheries management, licensing and enforcement; marine science and research; shellfish sanitation and management; and aquaculture.
“I am really looking forward to serving on this committee, hearing directly from people who come from all over the state about how Maine can do a better job promoting and supporting the fishing industry,” said Faulkingham. “Too often, those of us who have worked in the industry know first-hand that many of the regulations get in our way, and are often outdated. We need to be making it easier for Mainers to succeed in our fishing industry, not harder, and that is exactly the goal I’ll be working towards as the ranking House Republican member of the committee.”
