  1. I am writing in hope that you will support the governor in his effort to tax some non-profit organizations in Maine. I live in the town of Unity. We have at least four of these so called non-profits in our town acquiring large tracts of land and large buildings, but never paying any taxes. They get too involved in our town business and even end up getting additional money from town meetings. Our taxes rise year after year and there is little we can do because these organizations fill our meetings with their members and vote in their own interest. People in our town are very discouraged by what has been going on for too many years. My taxes have risen almost 500% in the last twenty five years. I will certainly lose my home if this continues!
