Representative Sue Austin serves on the Innovation, Development, Economic Advancement and Business Committee
Rep. Austin has also been appointed by the Speaker of the House to serve on the Advisory Committee on Dental Education.
Representative Austin is very active in her community serving on a wide variety of boards and committees including five terms on the MSAD 15 School Board. She has also served on the Pineland Conversion Committee, Crystal Lake Association and is a Maine Wildlife Park Advocate. Additionally, she previously served on the Gray Town Council and the Pineland YMCA Advisory Council.

This Committee has jurisdiction over all new bills pertaining to Business regulation, including automobile and fuel sales; retail pricing; franchising; advertising; real estate practices; professional and occupational licensing; consumer protection; Finance Authority of Maine (FAME), including student assistance programs at Finance Authority of Maine; economic development; economic planning and development agencies; venture capital and trade programs; opportunity zones; import competition; product marketing; research and development; technology commercialization; technology transfers; tourism; and defense facility conversion.
