Rep. Corey is serving his third term in the Maine House of Representatives. He believes strongly in individual liberties, lower taxes, and a more efficient government.
During the 128th and 129th Legislature, he served on the Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee and was also appointed to the Joint Select Committee on Marijuana Legalization Implementation. During his first term in the House, Rep. Corey served on the Inland, Fisheries and Wildlife Committee in the 127th Legislature.
Representative Corey lives in Windham with his wife Sheila where he works as a self-employed creative director serving a number of businesses and non-profits. In his spare time, you’ll find Rep. Corey outdoors enjoying all that Maine has to offer. He’s an avid hunter, hiker and photographer.
This Committee reviews General Fund appropriations and general fiscal policy; federal funds allocations, special revenue and block grant allocations when part of a biennial or supplemental budget; Budget Stabilization Fund; general obligation bond issues; collective bargaining funding; budgeting methodologies; review of financial orders; and financial evaluation of agencies of state government.
The Joint Standing Committee on Veterans and Legal Affairs oversees Alcoholic beverage laws; adult-use marijuana regulation; lottery; for profit and nonprofit gambling, including games of chance, beano and raffles; slot machines, gaming devices; harness racing and off-track betting; election laws; campaign practices; campaign financing and disclosures; the Maine Clean Election Act; voter registration; direct initiatives and people’s veto; legislative ethics; lobbyist registration and reporting; Commission on Governmental Ethics and Election Practices; veterans’ programs; Department of Defense, Veterans and Emergency Management Services (except the Maine Emergency Management Agency); Bureau of Alcoholic Beverages and Lottery Operations; Gambling Control Board; and Maine National Guard.
Additionally, Rep. Corey serves as a member of the Marijuana Advisory Commission, which builds on his experience working on the Joint Select Committee on Marijuana Legalization and Implementation in 2017.
