Rep. Dick Campbell
Rep. Richard Campbell represents District 130, which includes Bucksport and Orrington. He is serving his second term after a 12-year absence from the House. He previously served four terms, including two in which he was the Assistant House Republican Leader.
He’s been appointed to serve on the Environment and Natural Resources Committee in the 128th Legislature.
Campbell attended Brewer High School, Eastern Maine Technical College, and the University of Maine at Orono. He resides in Orrington and runs Dick Campbell LLC, a design-build contracting company that specializes in passive solar, energy efficient green technologies in new and existing homes and commercial buildings. He spent seven years in the Maine Air National Guard during the Vietnam era.
Dick is active in his community, having served on the John Bapst High School Board of Trustees, as president of the Bangor-Brewer YMCA Board of Trustees, and as co-chair of the Eastern Maine Soapbox Derby.
Dick says his major legislative focus is on economic development in the lower Penobscot basin and serving the residents of Orrington and Bucksport to the greatest extent. The area has tremendous potential, he says, as the confluence of major transportation and grid systems, combined with a deep-water port. A former candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives, Dick’s interests include cycling, skiing and politics.
